Since a payment cannot be reversed, scammers do not need to hack you. They only need to convince you to send.
"Send 1, get 2 back"
A video of a famous entrepreneur, a live stream, a post from a verified account: "To celebrate, we double every bitcoin sent to this address." The video is a deepfake or a recording, the account is hacked or copied. Nothing ever comes back.
Fake airdrops and rewards
A message tells you that you have won tokens or a reward. To claim it, you must connect your wallet to a site, sign something, or enter your seed phrase. The site then empties your wallet.
Guaranteed returns
Investment platforms promising a fixed daily or monthly profit, often introduced by a new online friend or romantic contact, are a very common way to lose everything. The first small withdrawals work, to build trust. The large one never does.
